It was the summer of 2000.
Your thoughts were short.
Your hair was long.
You came home after school one day to a BRAND NEW Playstation 2 set up in your room.
(Thanks, Mom.)
Times were good.
Until she reminded you that you could only play if you got straight A’s in school.
R.I.P. PS2 🙁
Fast forward to 2022, and we’re on to the Playstation 5.
(If you can find one in stock.)
The good news?
You already flunked out of school, so you can play video games as much as you want now.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy these awesome Kickstarter video games — Kickstarter’s best of 2022.

5. It Only Did Everything – The PS3’s Unofficial History
I’ll never forget the day I realized that I truly loved my mom…
It was the summer of 2007 and things weren’t going well.
Some jerk stole my pencil case at school and the girl I had a crush on said that she, “saw us more as friends.”
YIKES.
Needless to say, I needed a win.
That’s when my mom walked into the room saying she had the solution for my unhappiness and unveiled a brand new PS3.
Aren’t moms the best?!
It Only Did Everything offers a complete history of arguably the best video game console of all time.
It offers 320 pages of in-depth coverage of everything from the PS3’s rocky launch to its roaring comeback.
Find out every detail about famous launches including Assassin’s Creed, Grand Theft Auto, and Red Dead Redemption.
If you grew up playing on PS3, you’ll love this book.
4. Bits & Bops
When will game developers learn?
SIMPLE = BETTER
Gamers don’t need fancy gameplay and a million useless bells and whistles, we just want easy-to-play FUN.
Bits & Bops delivers on that promise.
It’s a brand-new collection of 20+ minigames filled with quirky animations, and easy-to-learn controls.
Each rhythm game uses catchy music to guide the gameplay and challenge you while making sure everyone from kids to adults has fun.
But don’t worry about annoying lag time with this game…
Bits & Pops built their own custom game engine with lightning-fast response times.
3. The Wings of Dawn
Here’s everything you need to include to create a game I’ll be interested in:
1. Dragons.
2. That’s it!
The Wings of Dawn takes place in an alt-world Britain that’s being DECIMATED by Vikings.
It’s set in medieval times as an open-world survival game.
Play as either humans or dragons to try to save the world from total destruction.
Quick note: Normally we wait for PC games like this to be fully funded before featuring them, but we’re in the holiday spirit and wanted to show these creators some love.
If you want to see The Wings of Dawn come to life, consider backing their project!
2. Elite Sports Gaming Football 23 (ESG Football)
Remember playing NFL Blitz as a kid?
This brings it back in a wonderfully refreshed 2022 version.
ESG Football 23 is a modernized version of the hit-crazy football video games we grew up with.
(It’s like an unbuttoned version of Madden that FINALLY let its hair down.)
Play 11 vs. 11 player-focused football on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC.
It’s a physics-based simulation-style football game that LOOKS LIKE REAL FOOTBALL.
You’ll create a customizable avatar and choose which position and attributes your player will have.
You can make them 7-foot or 5’5″, but those choices have real impacts on how your player performs on the field.
The more you play, the better your player will get — starting at a 4 overall rating all the way up to 99.
P.S. ESG Football was created by Raymond Milian, the former #1 Madden player in the WORLD.
1. S-ARKADE – Spatial Augmented Gaming System
Zuck’s Metaverse is officially a bust.*
*Makes note to update this post the SECOND I’m proved wrong.
S-ARKADE is everything the Metaverse wanted to be.
It uses the existing world around you to create real-life, playable gamescapes.
S-ARKADE lets you use any projector to unlock spatial augmented reality that DOESN’T REQUIRE A HEADSET.
(That’s a crucial difference compared to most augmented reality games.)
Play these 80s and 90s-style party games on your walls, tables, and even the FLOOR.
You can add real-life obstacles and they’ll appear in the game.
This wildly popular project frees games from screens and is an excellent way to entertain an entire roomful of people.
(Not just whoever’s holding the controller.)

5. Sandwalkers
Sandwalkers takes place in a desolate land where climate change has destroyed everything.
Millions are forced to wander the land in hopes of survival, and trees are a thing of the past.
(Hmmm, why does a place like that sound so familiar?)
Your goal is to lead a caravan from the Mka tribe into the chaos of Phithi — a place where almost nothing grows and the weather kills.
You’ll find success if you can plant a new tree-city that will help rebuild this dying world.
But watch out, the monsters and pirates who control Phithi WON’T make things easy.
4. Flynt Buckler Wakes The Sleepy Castle
Flynt Buckler Wakes the Sleepy Castle is an adventure RPG that hits a little too close to home.
Why?
Well, an evil dragon who’s Flynt’s #1 enemy has turned its fortress into a corporate office building full of coffee-sipping-settlers who will never amount to anything and can’t afford to retire until they’re 90 years old.
(See why it hits so close to home for me now?)
Your job is to help Flynt work with other fairytale characters to defeat Ever After Inc., who’s hellbent on taking over everything.
UNLESS you help Flynt stop them, of course.
3. Sally
Sally is a life-sim game so gosh darn wholesome that it melted my cold, cold heart.
(Unlike my ex, also named Sally, who could turn any man to stone.)
Sally is a flying ship where building a strong community is your top priority.
Grow food, raise animals, and make friendships that make thriving in the ship’s world easier and more fruitful.
Luckily, the ship isn’t controlled by negative, self-consuming adults like me.
Rather, it’s run by a bunch of cute kids supervised by a pair of senile caring grandmothers.
2. AERO GPX
Move over Formula 1, Aero GPX is coming for you.
This throwback anti-gravity racing game will take you back to the 1970s in the best possible way.
Choose from 30+ machines that travel at a whopping 2,000 km/h.
(That’s 1,200 MPH for those of us who wouldn’t know a kilometer from a kilogram.)
Of course, your goal is to finish #1.
But that’s easier said than done when your opponents use their cars as supersonic battering rams who won’t stop until they’ve ended your race early.
1. DUELYST II by Dream Sloth Games
DUELYST II doesn’t look good…
It looks GREAT.
It’s a competitive tactics game that uses fully animated pixel art cards to test your skills on the battlefield.
Take on your opponents with one of 6 unique factions including the Songhai Empire and Lyonar Kingdoms.
At only 10 minutes each, games are short enough to provide a fair result without letting your Totino’s Pizza Rolls burn in the oven.
Battles take place in the world of Mythron, which features epic landscapes that set the stage for a bloodbath of turn-based action.
With over 330 minions, spells, and artifacts to test, you simply can’t get bored playing this game.
